Where the River Feshie meets the River Spey, there are fascinating stories and histories to be heard. Come and join a guided walk around Dalnavert to explore this little-known but captivating area. This gentle guided adventure over 2.5-3 hours will include wild tea tasting.
Brimming with tales of gruesome ghosts and fairy hills to the historical links with empire and colonialism, the walk brings together archaeology, folklore, culture, history and storytelling.
Young children are welcome, but this walk may be of more interest to older children and adults. The Aviemore Storywalk however is suitable for all ages.
Covid-19: This walk is fully outdoors with a small group, and we can socially distance if needed.
Description of walk
The circular walk starts from Dalnavert (location will be shared on booking), and is around 3 miles (4.8km) long. The walk lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours, including a break for tea, and is on forestry tracks and footpaths. It is rough and rocky underfoot in places. A reasonable level of fitness is required, though we do go slowly.
It may be suitable for off-road prams and wheelchairs; please let me know in advance and we can have a chat.
I’m sorry but no dogs on this walk, as the route passes through a working farm with sheep.
What to wear/bring
Please dress appropriately for the weather! This usually means warm, waterproof clothing. The weather can change quickly, so please bring waterproofs with you just in case. We will stop frequently on the walk so make sure you will be warm enough. Please wear strong, sturdy shoes or boots suitable for uneven, rocky paths (no flip-flops!) and a sit pad/mat is a good idea for when we stop for drinks.
Covid-19: Please bring your own cup if you’d like to try the wild tea.

I will bring wild tea, a bag of tricks, and a smile. I will also have a First Aid kit with me just in case!
